Serenity: Showboat!

In the inky dark of the Black a small transport ship drifts into view alongside a huge cruise ship bound for the Rim.

"Out in the black it's not all broken down boats, Reavers and space dust, hell that's only half of any story. Not all the high and mighty Core dwellers stay at home you know, some come out here into the Rim, looking for adventure and beauty away from the sterility that the Alliance has to offer. All aboard their fine showboats and cruise ships they ride out in the lap of luxury. They bring with them shiny purses full of credits, cases full of fancy medicines and a might of other secrets to. Of course such a pretty little box of goodies comes with a lock or two, all as you need is the right key," said the Captain. He grinned at the beautiful courtesan at his side who returned his smile with a petulant sneer.

"I would expect no less from you, this is my business, not yours," she gracefully snarled as she stormed from the room.

"Then again some boxes are just pure trouble when they are opened, just look at that one of Pandora's. I would say that a ship full of tourists, parliamentary lobbyists, alliance guards and such forth, looks like a mighty box of trouble," said the older man from the doorway clutching his chest; the Doctor stood looking worried as usual at his side.

The Captain just smiled his boyish grin, "You know how much I was hoping you would say that old friend?"

"Are we there yet? I thought you said you could get me there on time," said the passenger from the top of the gantry. "I have very important business, and must not be late. Also I want to discuss a refund, this ship is infested if you ask me."

"Cleanest ship in the Verse!" snapped the Captain defensively "Tell him Doc!"

"We're just *cough!* about to dock *cough!* sir," choked the pilot.

All aboard the luxury cruise ship "Venturer", where the rich, famous and fortunate live like kings in the height of luxury. On this very ship the Alliance is conducting a passionate debate to decide the future of the Verse. But riches and politics attract less wholesome folks like flies around honey.

Play a space rogue, courtesan, politician, special agent or valiant captain in this game of daring exploits, devious politics and deadly secrets. This is a game of good role-playing; newcomers are always welcome but only if they are coming to chew scenery and make this game go with a bang. Costuming a necessity and turning up on the day even more so!

Data:

A 30 player Freeform game set in Joss Whedon's Serenity/Firefly universe. The ultimate genre twist of Cowboys in Space.

I’m just happy I’ve been there and done that :) Didn’t I mention that already?

Though I really regret not getting to know the people at the convection better, especially those I played Firefly freeform with. I guess I just was afraid of getting too attached knowing that it’d be time to part our ways soon. It’s always like that after a very good gaming: time totally exhausted, happy and sad that it’s over, yet every time it’s somehow different.

Participating in a ‘Firefly: Showboat!’ is my most treasured experience. I’d been really hesitating when applying to play River Tam, and then felt really excited when I got the role.

The heaviest part of playing River character probably was her boots (good thing I didn’t have to carry them to the convention myself :)) All the rest was sheer delight!

Besides it’s the first time I had to play completely in English. The experience turned out to be partly successful: I found myself understanding everything what people were saying, but at the same time unable to pronounce something like “adequate vacuuming systems”. Besides I had to repeat some things twice before I was properly understood. Anyways I guess it’s a good start.

The players were fantastic! They were able to create an atmosphere that was so close to the show that I completely forgot we were in the hall of an ancient castle, and not on board spaceship. That’s one of the best games I was ever a part of (the other one being Альманах авторских сказок 2002). The crew of Serenity made it real, others made it challenging and every minute worthwhile.

And of course it would be newer possible without the game masters. Eternal gratitude to you for your efforts! You made at leat one soul very happy.

As you must’ve noticed, I’ve switched to English. This is because I now have a Latin keyboard and I find it really faster to type this way. Anyways I’m pretty sure I don’t have any readers who can’t understand English.

Back from the Tentacles Omega convention! Unfortunately the last Tentacles, sniff...
But that's probably the best thing that happened to me this year :)
When I was deciding to move to Germany, I could only hope beyond any hope that I'd still be possible for me to participate in the role playing events. Since I speak very little German I was very lucky to find out about the Tentacles. Besides I'm certainly interested in Call of Cthulhu and am a big Firefly fan. I was able to play a CoC game and event participate in two freeforms. More on that later as well as some photos.

Как же давно я ничего не постила! Впрочем ничего странного, вести этот дневник я никогда особо и не собиралась :) Здесь я в основном чтобы читать дневники знакомых. Чем сейчас и займусь вместо работы... точнее вместе с работой.

За неделю отпуска привыкла дрыхнуть днем и бодрствовать ночью. В итоге этой ночью никак не могла уснуть, удалось мне это окончательно где-то за 15 минут до звонка будильника. Красота!
Сижу на работе и пытаюсь написать вдумчивый test case. Прошла уже половина рабочего дня, и я пока не заснула. Могу собой гордиться...

Грустно...

Неудачный сегодня какой-то день

Ничего на работе не клеется, всё крешится и вешается... Ерунда какая-то, сижу полдня над тем, что можно было з час/полтора сделать :(

Вечером надо в гости идти, но так неохота, хочется домой, в теплую ванну, а потом спать. Можно еще сериал какой-нибудь посмотреть или книжку почитать. Да, в гости совсем не хочется :(

Но обещание есть обещание...

Работа, работа, работа...

Очень сильно стараюсь не отвлекаться сегодня ни на что. Почти получается.
Но видят Боги, мне не легко дается быть весь день в интернете и заниматься только работой! К тому же рядышком в рюкзаке тихонько лежит преинтересная книжка...
Жаль за такие подвиги премию не дают :)

Сны

Сегодня в очередной раз попыталась экспериментировать со снами. Всегда любила это делать, то сон смоделировать, то позабавляться с тем, что само наснится, но потом как-то забросила. А теперь вот вдруг вспомнила. Приятно чувствовать себя этаким творцом всемогущим, даже если только во сне.
Но на этот раз получилась полная ерунда, да ещё в придачу приснилась злая папа и испортила всё настроение. Дожили...
